JUNIOR CIVIL ENGINEER:

Full-time position for a Junior Civil Engineer to work in a small engineering company located in Baton Rouge, LA. The successful candidate will work mainly on solid waste and geotechnical projects, including design, permitting, monitoring, and inspection of landfills.

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required as well as 1 year of experience using AutoCad/Civil 3D in a work environment.

Typical duties will include environmental permitting, CAD design, bid package preparation, and construction project management. Environmental sampling knowledge is desirable, but not required. Typical duties will also include occasional performance of engineering inspections at field locations, mostly out of town.

In addition, candidate must have a good attitude, attention to detail, strong reporting skills, and be able to get along well with others. Local candidates preferred; no relocation. Candidates must also have a safe driving record and reliable transportation.

SENIOR CIVIL/GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER:

Full-time position for a Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to work at FDAE’s office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The successful candidate will work mainly on solid waste and geotechnical projects, including design, permitting, monitoring, and inspection of solid waste facilities, as well as other geotechnical and environmental engineering projects. He/she will be responsible for planning and supervising field exploration and laboratory testing programs, conducting engineering analyses, developing recommendations, writing reports and consulting with clients.

The successful candidate will be technically superior, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in project management and mentoring of staff/project engineers. The position requires a Louisiana P.E. License and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. A Master’s or Ph.D. Degree in Geotechnical Engineer is strongly preferred. Ten years of experience in solid waste/geotechnical engineering as well as two years of experience using AutoCad Civil 3D in a work environment is required.

Additional requirements include a safe driving record and authorization to work in the United States. Duties may include periodically performing tasks at field locations. In addition, candidate must have a good attitude, attention to detail, strong reporting skills, and be able to get along well with others.

Salary to be offered will be compatible with experience.

Local candidate preferred; no relocation.  Candidate must have a safe driving record and reliable transportation.
